AJ DiBasilio

I'm currently a freshman in college at Northern Illinois University working toward a major in Operations Management and Information Systems (OMIS).

I've been homeschooled since fourth grade which has granted me the ability to pursue my interests such as programming and designing.

Outside of school, I became an Eagle Scout in May of 2025 and last year I competed as a level 10 gymnast, even qualifying to nationals.

I love hiking outside in nature and general exploration and wandering around wherever I find myself.

Scouting

I became an Eagle Scout back in May of 2025 after serving in countless positions in my troop. During my time as a youth, I was also elected into the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society. There I've served in several leadership roles including Vice Chief of Communications and as a Vice-Chapter Chief.

Level 10 gyMNast

For over a decade now, I've been practicing gymnastics and eventually was chosen to join the competitive team. I competed all six of the events and last year even qualified for nationals.

OBSESSED with lights

I've been, for a very long time fascinated with controllable lights and every year since 2021 I've made a synchronized Christmas and Halloween light show on my house.

I absolutely love writing and speaking alike. Though I'm not published nor do I have anything official, it's one of my favorite hobbies.

Programming

During the lockdowns of 2020 I decided to teach myself how to make a website. This interest slowly spiraled into an internship, and dozens of unique websites and even an app named "terra.photos" being created by me.

Photography

Despite this being one of my newest interests, this has quickly risen to become one of my favorite past times. I specifically enjoy taking photos of liminal spaces.

Personal Brand

I'm a self-driven problem solver who likes to combine both technology and creativity. I often use photos of nature with minimal to no people as images in my projects.

I prefer to get started on a plan as soon as possible for each project I'm a part of. From there, I love to just put my head down and work until the project is completed.

When meeting new people or presenting, I try my very best to be as confident and prepared as possible.

I treat others with honesty and respect, and I hope to be treated the same way, much like the Golden Rule.

This all is often reflected in the projects I create and I'm hoping that in the future, after college, I can continue to innovate just like I've been doing all my life.
